CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With 4-6 inches of snow predicted Friday, a Winter Storm Warning issued, and Clarksville Police urging people to stay off the roads, closings were being announced in Montgomery County.

Residents are advised by city officials to stay home. “This is for the public’s safety, and it will also enable public safety personnel, the Clarksville Street Department, and other state and local road and utility crews to more-quickly and efficiently deploy personnel and equipment where they are needed,” according to a news release.

Motorists are also asked to remove parked vehicles from streetsides. This will allow for faster, more-efficient movement of Street Department snow plows and salt trucks through the neighborhoods.

Schools

  • Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools: Closed Friday. All after-school activities, athletics and practices are canceled. If mission-essential employees need to report to work, they will be contacted by supervisors. CMCSS will monitor conditions through the weekend. If there are any closures or delays for Monday, families will be contacted Sunday afternoon.
  • Austin Peay State University: Shifting to remote operations. Only essential personnel should report to campus. Employees should contact their supervisor if they have questions about remote assignments. For updates about on-campus dining availability, visit apsu.edu/dining.
  • Clarksville Academy: Closed.
  • Clarksville Christian School: Closed.
  • North Central Institute: Closed

Offices

  • City of Clarksville: Offices closed Friday.
  • Montgomery County Government: Offices closed Friday. For online services, visit the GOV tab at mcgtn.org.
  • State of Tennessee: Offices closed Friday.
  • District Attorney’s Office: Closed.
  • City Court: Closed Friday.

Other

  • Fort Campbell: Limited operations Friday. Mission and emergency essential employees report as directed by your supervisor. Tenant organization employees contact your supervisor for instructions. Soldiers will take guidance from their commands.
  • City parks and community centers: Closed Friday and Saturday.
  • Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library: Closed Friday and Saturday.
  • Montgomery County Animal Care and Control: Closed.
  • Clarksville Transit System buses: Will continue, moving to snow routes as needed.
  • CDE Lightband: Open, but customers urged to conduct business online and stay home.
  • Premier Medical Group: Closed. Check messages in the Patient Portal for details on your appointment. Several departments will do virtual appointments, available at www.premiermed.com/clinics. Questions? Call 931-245-7000.
  • Manna Cafe: Closed. Food distribution canceled. Saturday morning breakfasts canceled.
