FRANKLIN, Mass. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Franklin Massachusetts Police Department solved the case of the missing toys, and it led back to one of their own.
Ben Franklin, a Golden Retriever who serves as a therapy dog for the department, was caught ‘red-pawed’. The one-year-old Golden had been slowly sneaking off with toys originally meant for the Santa Foundation, a local children’s organization.
The adorable pup was caught on camera by Officer Cusson as he went through the department with a baby carrier in his mouth. When police arrived at his ‘lair’ they found a stack of toys.
No charges were filed, all toys were replaced, and now the door to the toy room remains locked.
