MONTREAL (AP) — Craig Smith scored the only goal in the shootout, lifting the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night.
Viktor Arvidsson scored in the first period for the Predators (28-21-11), who are 3-0-3 in their last six games.
Brendan Gallagher scored his 16th goal for Montreal (28-27-5), which has recorded at least one point in its last five home games (4-0-1).
Nashville outshot Montreal 29-27 in regulation time and 30-29 overall.
