CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Delays on I-24 are likely this afternoon into the evening hours in the westbound lanes near mile marker 11.

Kathryn Shulte, Spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), said there is a sinkhole that could cause some traffic delays.

“We have had another sinkhole and crews are in the process of repairing it but it will probably last into the evening tonight,” Shulte said.

The sinkhole appeared Tuesday night and has already caused some backed up traffic, but more is expected during the afternoon rush hour. Motorists are encouraged to consider an alternate route if possible.
