CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A sinkhole was discovered early Tuesday, Aug. 20 on I-24 near Exit 8.
Eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane at mile marker 8 as police and transportation personnel guard the area to prevent traffic from compromising the already weakened area.
The hole spanned approximately 15 feet, and extended beneath the highway, according to a police dispatcher.
This is a developing story and Clarksvillenow.com will provide more details as they become available.
