CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – There was a single vehicle fatality crash in the area of 1680 Ashland City Rd (41A Bypass) around 2:30 pm May 31.
Two men in a Chevy Malibu were traveling north on Ashland City Rd and, for an unknown reason, the driver crossed the center turn lane and southbound lane and went off the left side of the paved roadway. The vehicle traveled down a steep wooded embankment and came to rest at the bottom on its side.
The driver of the vehicle was extricated and transported by Lifeflight to a Nashville Hospital in extremely critical condition . The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Traffic on Ashland City Rd was diverted for approximately two hours.
The names of the driver and passenger will not be released until after family notifications have been made.
