CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A locally-owned small business is approaching a major milestone.
Silke’s Old World Breads Bakery & Cafe will celebrate 10 years in business on November 17.

The eatery is owned by German-born Silke Tyler, who has created a menu filled with items inspired by her culture. Silke’s offers fresh-baked breads, pizza, deli food, soup, pastries, cookies, and more.
Tyler is also a supporter of local artists. Visitors can check out (or purchase) the pieces that adorn the walls of the cafe.
“The support we received from the community is just incredible and I am in such deep appreciation that we were allowed to fulfill and flourish with our dream of bringing an artisan bakery to Clarksville,” Tyler said.
“It started out with a tug at my heart to create real bread, followed by the desire to serve the community and from there the dream evolved to our own Cafe’, then deli, to where it is now.”
As part of the 10-year-anniversary, Silke’s will host a day long party Nov. 17. Customers can enjoy special one-day menu prices from 10 years ago, as well as hourly drawings and prizes.
Loyalty card customers will receive an extra 10 percent off food and drinks.
Children can get involved in the logo drawing contest for the chance to win a prize.
“It took many years of dedication and amazing people to dream this dream with us, to create every day and we are so happy with the state our business is in,” Tyler said. “Our goal for the future is to continue creating and allowing room for positive improvements and growth.”
