CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Travis Janssen Baseball Camps will hold the Second Fall Instructional League at Austin Peay State University beginning Tuesday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m.
The league is open to individuals of all abilities who will graduate high school from 2017-20. The Austin Peay baseball coaching staff will conduct the league at a cost of $160. Camp cost includes an Austin Peay shirt.
“This is a great opportunity for a player to come and improve his game in a positive environment,” said head coach Travis Janssen. “The emphasis of the league is based on instruction, team play and improvement. Winning and losing will not be emphasized. The fall games give each high school player a chance to showcase his skills in a game setting in front of the Austin Peay staff each week. Instruction will be constant.”
The league will begin September 6 at 6:30 p.m. under the lights. The showcase is designed to evaluate and form teams. Starting September 11 games will run four successive Sundays. After the showcase night, the fall campers will be divided into teams where competition and specialized instruction can take place starting that Sunday.
Each game will be either six innings long or will conclude after two hours. In-game instruction will be constant throughout the contests and each team will have a minimum number of players on the roster to ensure ample playing time. Batting all the way through the order and free substitution will be utilized.
Reserve your spot today in the fall league. To register please fill out the registration form and send it in. The camp also will be taking on-site registrations beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sep. 6 (first day of camp).
