CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville man is searching for his lost dog, who suffers from a rare illness and needs regular medication.

Roxy, a 7-year-old tan Pit mix, ran away from her yard near East Old Trenton Rd. Tuesday, Jan. 19 just before winter storms moved into the area.

Her owner, Gabriel Garcia, recently moved to the area from Tuscon, Arizona. While there, Roxy had contracted a fungal disease better known as Valley Fever. Garcia spends hundreds of dollars each month to pay for Roxy’s medications to treat the illness.

“She is in serious need of her medication. She’s running out of time before it takes her life. She depends on that medication to survive,” he said.

Garcia has checked several lost and found pages on Facebook, posted fliers, and checked local shelters with no luck. He believes someone may be in possession of Roxy and hopes they will come forward.
