Elementary locked down after report of gunfire in Lincoln Homes

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department responded to a shots fired call in Lincoln Homes Thursday around 1 p.m.

APSU issued a safety alert urging the community to avoid the area near Summer St.

Several suspects fled the area in an unknown gray vehicle. The suspects are described as several black males wearing white shirts and black shorts.

Officer Natalie Hall said there have been no reports of any injuries.

Burt Elementary School was temporarily placed on lockdown but it has since been lifted, according to CMCSS spokesperson Elise Shelton.
