CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Kristen and Tom Edwards’ love for nostalgia is evident in the fact that they bought the iconic Holiday Barber Shop on the corner of College St. and Riverside Drive five years ago.

For decades the shop was a spot for locals to catch up on news, gossip, or just friendly chat.

Today it’s a trendy little spot that mixes the charm and nostalgia of the old time barbershop with the hip sensibility of the Clarksville arts and creative crowd.

With that in mind, the Edwards just opened at The Upstairs Emporium, located above the barber shop and Mary’s Music where they specialize in selling “strange, cool stuff.”

Kristen said the shop aims to meet the needs of people who enjoy selling and shopping for oddities but don’t want to have to make a road trip to do it.

“We decided we were tired of driving to East Nashville to find cool unique, unusual stuff and we are supporters of local arts so we wanted a cool and interesting place to share with the community,” she said.

The Upstairs Emporium is not yet sold out of vendor booth space, but already has a nice assortment of old vinyl records, clothes, crafts, wiccan supplies, and pop culture collectibles.

Jeremy Miracle, the owner of Wild Nature Taxidermy in Sango, has a booth at the emporium where he sells reproduction taxidermy, artwork, and sculpture pieces such as the dragon head shown below:

The Upstairs Emporium is open 7 days a week and still has a few spaces left for interested vendors.
