NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The lockdown at Boyd Hall at Tennessee State University in Nashville has been lifted on Monday afternoon after a shooting was reported in the dorm’s parking lot.
WKRN News 2 reports that the incident was reported just after 2:30 p.m.
Boyd Hall was on placed on lockdown around 2 p.m. after witnesses said the shots were fired in a room on the seventh floor. The lockdown was lifted a short time later.
It doesn’t appear anyone was struck by gunfire and the lockdown has since been lifted.
Witnesses told News 2 that something was dropped from the dorm’s window and caught by a person waiting in the parking lot.
It is unclear what was dropped.
Police immediately stopped the suspect’s vehicle. Three people were inside including the person who caught the unknown package.
One person was taken into custody after marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.
