CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police have released information regarding four allegedly unrelated reports of shots fired early Sunday morning in different areas of the city. The shootings occurred within an hour of each other but police say they are not directly connected.
One of the shootings resulted in an injury and occurred around 2:15 a.m. at Wilcox St. The responding officer said when he arrived at the scene he found two vehicles that had collided with each other. The officer was approached by two victims who said they had been shot at and their friend had been shot in the leg.
The victims said they had just left The Warehouse and were standing by a vehicle when a red Nissan Versa drove slowly near them and passed, but came back shortly after. As it approached them again, they heard gunshots coming from the vehicle and ran down the hill to escape.
Coreyian Banks, 20, was shot in the leg and taken to Gateway Medical Center by a friend.
One of the victims said his car had been hit by the Versa as it was fleeing the scene and believed three or four black males were inside. Police were able to track the car down near Beech Dr. where it has been abandoned. Casings were found in the vehicle, but no suspects have been named at this time.
Three other incidents were reported on Fort Campbell, Blvd., Forbes Ave., and Elaine Dr. Officer Natalie Hall said because multiple people called to report shots fired, there appeared to be more shootings than actually occurred.
The report of shots fired on Fort Campbell Blvd. occurred at a bar and did not result in injuries. No suspects have been named.
The victim on Forbes Ave. said a bullet came through the wall of his residence and struck him in the leg but left only a welt.
Five bullet holes were found on the exterior of the house and a vehicle parked on the street had also been hit.
Bullet holes were also found on the outside of the residence on Elaine Dr. A witness said two black males exited a dark Chevrolet Camaro and a dark gray Honda and shot multiple times at the house before fleeing the scene.
No one was injured and no suspects have been named.
