Shirley Belle Thomas, age 80, formerly of Palmyra, TN passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 22023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Romine officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Cunningham, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Shirley entered this life on January 13, 1943, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Ernest and Laura Belle Baggett Hayes. She was a retired secretary and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Shirley was the proud owner of Thomas Tangibles and enjoyed selling her arts and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hayes; siblings, Earl Hayes, Sr., John Benjamin Hayes, Van Odell Hayes, Thelma Marshall, and Geneva Faye Hayes. Survivors include her brothers, Harold, Cecil, and Phillip Hayes; sister, Dorothy Hayes Niemann, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Hayes, David Hembree, Jimmy Hayes, Earl Hayes, Jr., and Roger Baggett.
