Shirley Claxton, age 68 passed away on September 25, 2016 at her residence in Cumberland City, TN.
She was born on January 22, 1948 to the late Vernon and Edith Claxton in Cumberland City, TN. She was a published poet and an avid reader.
She is survived by a son, James Lyon (Brandy); daughters, Brandy Lowery (Michael), Edith Casey; brothers, Jim Claxton and Michael Black; sisters, Lawanda Schlagg and Linda Honeycutt; grandchildren, Vernon, Brett, Daniel, Shady and Bo Lyons, Victoria, Chance, Sekiya and Miranda Casey, Ragan and Ryleigh Lowery, Colton Lyons and Jessica Clark.
There are no memorial service arrangements at this time for Mrs. Claxton.
