CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Shimmy Mob is seeking local dancers and instructors of all backgrounds to participate in raising funds for the Urban Ministries Safehouse on Saturday, May 9.

A location for the event has not yet been decided.

The event is part of the national one-day campaign to create awareness and raise funds for Women’s and Children’s shelters in participating communities, according to the website.

No experience is necessary to participate. Ambient Movements Belly Dance will give free lessons to all those signed up for the event. The “Shimmy Mob Kit” includes links to online videos of the choreography breakdown, and the official 2015“Shimmy Mob” t-shirt to wear on the day of the event.

Community members can show support by sponsoring a dancer, making a donation or donating an item for the silent auction to be held at the benefit gala show to be held on May 30.

The deadline to register as a dancer is April 4.
