Sherry H. Farmer, 68, of Clarksville, TN, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Clarksdale, MS to the late Howell Hubbard and Janette Waldrup Hubbard.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the church on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetry-West in Hopkinsville, KY at a later date.
Sherry retired in 2006 as the director of disaster services for the American Red Cross Mid-South Chapter after serving for 26 years. She served in many disasters which included Hurricane Andrew, Oklahoma City Bombing, San Francisco Earthquake, and the Pentagon on 9/11. She was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mitchell D. Farmer of Clarksville, TN; son, Robert (Jennifer) Shane Farmer of Dotham, AL; two daughters, Kimberly (Bart) Ann Farmer Lynn and Jennifer (Scott) Shannon Farmer Blackman of Clarksville, TN; brother, Hal (Beth) Gordon Hubbard of Clarksdale, MS; sister, Clarice (Dicky) Hubbard Gordon of Amory, MS; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 1760 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.
