Sherman Martin, age 90 passed away Thursday, October 9,2014 after a extended illness at Christian Care Center in Smyrna,TN.
Family will receive family and friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West.
He was born October 24,1923 in Rusk, TX to the late Sherman and Hollie Calhoun Martin. He was eduated in the Texas School System and graduated from Tennessee A and I State Unviversity with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He taught school in Ripley, TN. He retired from The Department of Defense at Fort Campbell, KY. He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Cross Martin and son Lonnie Martin.
He leaves to cherish her memory children Sherman(Rose) Martin,Jr, Sweetwater,TN, Sharon (Ross) Shanklin, LaVergne,TN, Deborah Martin, Nashville,TN, Kenneth Martin, Clarksville,TN and Rodney(Denise) Collierville,TN and 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
