CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson said the suspect in custody for making Twitter threats against West Creek High School had no means of acting on those threats.

The now deactivated profile of the “West Creek Killer” directed threats at students and staff.

A statement from the sheriff’s office said the suspect, who was taken into custody early Thursday is a minor and a student at West Creek.

Investigators found that the suspect did not have weapons to carry out the threats.

Sheriff Fuson said the West Creek School Campus is safe and indicated there will be an increased law enforcement presence there until the end of the investigation, adding “we just want to thank the school system – we are all stakeholders in the safety of our community’s children, and we are thankful to have had their support through this investigation.”
