MONROE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) – Wildlife officials are investigating after three horses and two dogs were found dead in Monroe County, Kentucky Sunday morning. 

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported agents with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources were called to the Bill Butler Spur area to investigate the dead animals. 

Upon arrival, agents found three horses, a Pit Bull and a Husky dead from what they believe is an attack by a large cat or animal, reported the sheriff’s office.

Members of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are coming to Monroe County from Frankfort to examine the deceased animals. 

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office advised residents to be aware of their surroundings and to keep a close eye on small children and animals when outside.
