MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputy was driving on Dover Rd. Friday when his vehicle was struck by a driver who was allegedly under the influence.
According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Deputy Adam Liberatore was crossing the intersection at Dover Rd. and N. Liberty Church Rd. when a Chevy Impala driven by 30-year-old Nichole Smith ran a red light and hit the side of Liberatore’s cruiser.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed the incident to authorities.
Liberatore was not injured.
THP said Smith was examined on scene by EMS before she was transported to jail by THP.
Smith was charged with DUI, open container law, reckless driving, violation of implied consent, and no proof of insurance. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
