CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Hundreds gathered to celebrate special stars in our community at Night to Shine, created by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Close to 150 special needs guests and more than 350 volunteers filled the Community of Hope Church in Clarksville Friday evening.

Each of the honored guests at the prom were paired with a Buddy. The guests enjoyed a limo ride, a walk on the red carpet, and cheers from the paparazzi as they started the evening. Throughout the night there were photographs, dinner, music, dancing, and much more.

At the end of the evening’s festivities, the honored guests were crowned, a tiara for the ladies and a crown for the gentlemen. All were treated as King and Queen of the prom.

The Tim Tebow Foundation “Night to Shine” is a global organization supporting “an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older”. All Night to Shine evenings worldwide happened on February 7. This is the sixth year of Night to Shine worldwide, including 721 churches, 115,000 honored guests, and 215,000 volunteers total.

Local organizers of Night to Shine say that there is a large number of people in the Montgomery County community with special needs and most have not had the opportunity to go to a prom. The goal is to show them love and inclusion, and Night to Shine is just a way to outwardly express those feelings.

One guest, Jadyne, has attended Night to Shine for three years. “The Tim Tebow Foundation is truly a blessed ministry,” said Jackie, Jadyne’s mother. “This is her favorite night of the entire year.” Many salons in the Clarksville area donate their services to the honored guests, including Sash Salon (pictured below) and Trendsetters Salon.
