CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a tornado watch for Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky in effect until 9 p.m.
Strong winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts from 40 to 45 mph or more are expected.
The following counties are affected:
Montgomery (TN)
Christian (KY)
Dickson (TN)
Houston (TN)
Stewart (TN)
Caldwell (KY)
Trigg(KY)
Lyon (KY)
Todd (KY)
A strong cold front across the region will bring a chance of severe thunderstorms. The main threat from these storms will be damaging straight line winds and tornadoes.
Heavy rainfall could also cause standing water in low-lying areas.
Temperatures will reach the low 70s during the day and drop to around 39 degrees.
In the event of severe weather, the 5 Star Radio Storm Team will provide wall-to-wall coverage on Q108, Rewind 94.3, Beaver 100.3, Z97.5, and ESPN Clarksville 100.7 FM and 540 AM.
