A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect through 9 p.m. for the following counties:

A watch means that conditions are favorable for severe storms to develop.

Several trees and power lines are down in the area, especially near the mall and Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Scattered power outages have also been reported in Clarksville.

Crews will be out on the roads to remove debris and fix power lines. Drivers are asked to be alert and slow down.

Emergency Management Director said two fires in the county have been started by downed power lines: A home on Old Clarksville Pike and a non-structire fire in a field off Thorn Hollow Rd.
