CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – There is another threat of severe storms for the upcoming weekend. Meteorologist Sam Herron with the National Weather Service says severe storms are possible Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
“We’re getting some warm air building up across the region and that warm air is going to help generate some thunderstorms for late Saturday afternoon into the evening. We’re looking for the usual things, some gusty winds, some heavy downpours, and once again we can’t rule out a tornado, but this situation doesn’t look as strong as some in the past,” said Herron.
Rain amounts are predicted to be about one-half to an inch Saturday but no flooding is expected.
Herron added that after the storms move out Saturday, Sunday is shaping up to be a pretty nice day with sunshine and a high of 70.
