CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Seven new firefighters were sworn-in by Clarksville Fire Rescue during a
ceremony Wednesday, November 27. The room was full of family and fellow firefighters at Freedom Point in Liberty Park.
City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts led them in their oath as new firefighters and a family member pinned badges on their shirt.
Clarksville Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery welcomed the new firefighters and then assigned them to a Battalion. There are 12 fire station locations in Clarksville and 235 Clarksville Fire personnel.
The seven new firefighters just completed eight weeks of training in a fire academy. Following the ceremony, the families watched the new firefighters suit up in a training evolution and go into what is known as the burn building for the first time with live fire at the Clarksville Fire Rescue’s Station 1 at 802 Main Street.
