CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The qualifying deadline for candidates in the November 6 Tennessee State General & City of Clarksville Election has passed.
As of noon Thursday, four candidates have qualified in the race for Mayor of Clarksville.
Incumbent Mayor Kim McMillan will be challenged by former City Councilman Bill Summers, State Representative Joe Pitts, and candidate Dajuan Little.
Elizabeth Black, Administrator of Elections for Montgomery County, said three other candidates (Joseph Dasinger, Michael Rowehl and former Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper) did not return their petitions to be on the ballot for the mayor’s office.
The four qualifiers have until August 23 to withdraw their names from the November 6 ballot as a mayoral candidate. City races will also include City Council Wards 1, 2, 6,7, 10,and 11.
