CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)– Five Austin Peay State University (APSU) football seniors, who missed Friday’s commencement due to an FCS Playoff Quarterfinal game at Montana State, were honored, Monday, with a special commencement ceremony.
Jonathan Edwards III, Erskine Francis, Marquise Griffin, Devin Stuart, and Shaun Whittinghill were all set to receive their degrees from Austin Peay at the 2019 Winter Commencement. However, the Governors historic run in the FCS Playoffs led them to miss the Friday morning ceremony.
To honor these five student-athletes, President Alissa White, Provost Rex Gandy, and Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison led a graduation ceremony in the Morgan University Center.
Family members of the graduates, athletics department and university staff , as well as Governor fans attended the ceremony, which conferred degrees upon the five Governors football graduates.
