CLARKSVILLE, TN – Kayla Saelens, a Senior Girl Scout from Clarksville Troop 571, under the leadership of Karlene Brown, unveiled her Gold Award Take Action Project on Saturday.

Kayla’s passion for music chimes through her enchanting musical play area created from ordinary items in multiple playground stations. She spent over 160 hours on the planning and development of her project alone to ensure its accuracy and sustainability while simultaneously igniting many areas of child development. This project provides social interaction, collaboration and learning while bringing together friendships, fun and unity; it’s sure to make a music lover out of any child. This project exemplifies leadership and her extraordinary dedication to her community. She recognized a need in her community and took action and made a difference.

Kayla’s project titled, “Big Beats for Little Feet” is located at The Red Barn Child Care Center and Preschool in Sango.

Their mission at The Red Barn is to love, teach and positively influence the children who spend time in their facility. They believe that children learn in many different ways and that they learn best by “playing and doing.” A big thank you to Jeremy and Jessica Kelley, owners of The Red Barn, for allowing Kayla to share her love of music with children for years to come.

It was Kayla’s honor to present the “Little Beats for Little Feet,” making a difference in the community, one child at a time.
