CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Screaming Eagle Honor Flight is taking applications for the next flight of the 2017 flying season, scheduled for September 17, 2017.

During this one day trip the group will visit the World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Air Force, and Marine Corps Memorials. They will also see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.

Each veteran is provided a guardian, who is an individual that pays their own way for the privilege of escorting one of these heroes. The group’s priorities are World War II Veterans, Korean War Veterans, and then Vietnam War Veterans. If you are interested in attending or serving as a guardian, download an application or pick one up at the Montgomery County Veterans Service Office in Clarksville, VFW Post 11160 in Clarksville, Dover VFW Post 4730, or the Stewart County Veterans Service Office in Dover.

Screaming Eagle Honor Flight has flown 184 veterans to DC to visit their memorials since it began in January 2014. These flights are free to veterans and are funded by the generous and patriotic donations of individuals, groups, civic organizations, and businesses throughout North Central Tennessee and South Central Kentucky.

Future flights for the 2018 timeframe are currently being scheduled.
