CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has reported a new scam website collecting information from those trying to purchase a Tennessee hunting or fishing license.

The scam website appears as an advertisement during a Google search for “Tennessee Fishing License.” The site prompts users to enter personal information, including name, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, phone number, email address and residential address. After the information has been gathered, the website never asks for payment.

“The website appears to have been created outside the United States, and the TWRA is working to get the site shut down,” said TWRA press officer Lee Wilmot. “TWRA encourages anyone who has submitted information through this scamming site to monitor or freeze their credit.”

The only legitimate place to purchase a Tennessee hunting or fishing licenses online is through the official website.
