CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Salvation Army is preparing for their Red Kettle campaign over the holidays and currently signing up volunteers to be bell ringers. The holiday Red Kettle campaign is the largest fundraising effort by the Salvation Army each year and supports their many programs throughout the year.

Lieutenant Christopher Coulson with the Salvation Army talked about the bell ringers. “We are looking for individuals to help out with our Red Kettle campaign and stand outside our local establishments and ring the bell and greet people,” said Coulson. Coulson added they have bell ringers at local businesses between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day between November and December.

Applications for bell ringers are being taken now through Friday, October 11 at the Salvation Army, 210 Kraft Street, with a mandatory meeting for volunteers on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Applicants must provide a photo ID and a Social Security card when picking up their application.
