CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Salvation Army of Clarksville announces an upcoming leadership transition as part of the organization’s regular officer appointments. Current officers, Lt. Cols. Neal and Patty Richardson, will be departing, with new officers arriving to assume leadership of the local ministry and social service programs.

As part of The Salvation Army’s unique structure, officers (who are ordained ministers) are periodically reassigned to new communities to bring fresh perspective and leadership to different areas of ministry. These moves typically occur every few years and are guided by the organization’s leadership based on the needs of both the officers and the communities they serve.

“We are deeply grateful to Lt. Colonels Richardson for their faithful service in Clarksville,” said Maj. Al Newsome, divisional commander of The Salvation Army in Kentucky and Tennessee. “Their dedication to meeting both the spiritual and practical needs of our neighbors have made a meaningful impact in our community.”

Farewell Sunday services for outgoing officers will be held on Sunday, June 22. Welcome Sunday services for incoming officers will take place on Sunday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at the local Salvation Army corps.

The new officer, Lt. Patrick Lewandowski, will officially begin their service in Clarksville on Sunday, June 22. The community is invited to a special Welcome Sunday service on June 22 at 11 a.m. at The Salvation Army Worship and Community Center, located at 210 Kraft St., to meet and greet the new leadership team.

This will be Lewandowski’s first appointment as a Salvation Army officer. He comes to Clarksville straight from our training college in Atlanta.
