Sallie Mae Sullivan Bush was born on January 24, 1924, in McBean, Georgia to the union of Mary Cohen Sullivan and Seaborn Sullivan. She entered into rest on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her residence in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

Sallie accepted Christ at an early age and united with Harmony Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. She later joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. Sallie attended Lucy C. Laney High School and she completed cosmetology training, both in Augusta, Georgia. On April 21, 1948, she was united in Holy Matrimony to James Cleveland Bush, they enjoyed a number of years of marriage, until his untimely passing. Mrs. Bush was employed with Clarksville Montgomery County Public School Systems in the school lunch program. She was also a seamstress at Clarksville Memorial Hospital for 31 years. Mrs. Bush enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and making dolls. She was the oldest member of St. Mary’s Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Star PHA. Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her husband, James Cleveland Bush.

She leaves to cherish her memories children, Brenda Bush Bell, Goodlettsville, TN. Ronald W. Bush, Newport News, VA., Paul E. Bush, Hendersonville, TN., stepdaughter, Martha L. Jackson, Clarksville, TN., grandchildren, Valerie J. Robb, Goodlettsville, TN., Alyssa Maclin, Memphis, TN., step- grandchildren, Victor (Vanessa) Jackson, Cumming, GA., LaNiece (Kevin) Alston, GA., Anthony Jackson, Clarksville, TN., sisters, Dorothy Sexton, Mamie Brown, Elyria, OH., Evelyn Putnam, TX., six great- grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
