CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Ryan Gallant has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Montgomery County Commission, District 18.
He said he is running on a platform of state health care reform and investing in our county infrastructure. He also wants to provide funds towards expanding local schools to address overcrowd in classrooms.
Originally from Manchester, New Hampshire, Gallant graduated from Manchester High School West in 2010. He traveled across the country as a musician and songwriter, while owning and operating publishing companies.
“Through the years I have performed and traveled with multiple veterans to help raise funds towards charitable organizations for military veterans, and community initiative programs while helping to provide veterans with a home. With those experiences I have had many opportunities discussing difficult social topics with people of various races and social rankings, which has given me an up close look into the lives of struggling Americans,” he said.
In 2014, he moved to Nashville to continue touring and working in music publishing. In 2021, he settled in Clarksville with his wife and his mother.
Gallant is a youth mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville.
District 18 is in north Clarksville, south of Tiny Town Road down to Boy Scout Road and Hazelwood Road, and from the Senseney neighborhoods to Trenton Road.
