Ruth G. Hollis, age 97, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at her residence.

Ruth was born May 11, 1918, in Cullman, AL, to the late Hollis Stewart and Rosie Fambrough Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Odell Hollis; one daughter, Betsy Mosier Conley; three brothers, Porter Stewart, Tom Stewart, and Denney Stewart; and one granddaughter, Pam Stewart.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Walton’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will follow at Nanney-Hollis Cemetery, in Henrietta. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Thursday, January 21, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Gail (Billy) Black of Nashville and Shirley Stewart of Clarksville; ten grandchildren, Bill Stewart, Jr., Bob (Kathy) Stewart, Randy (Beth) Stewart, Greg (Missy) Stewart, Cindy (Rick Jones) McCormick, Lisa (Billy) McCormick, Scott (Angela) Black, Todd Black, Ted (Mindy) Mosier, and Misty (Tony) Patterson; fifteen great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ted Mosier, Bob Stewart, Randy Stewart, Tony Patterson, Ray Williams, Ronnie Williams, Scott Black, and Todd Black. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Stewart, Dale Williams, David Mosier, and the men at the White House, TN Baptist Adult Home.
