Russell Ralph Hayes, age 76 of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015.

He is survived by his two daughters, Joy Hayes Melita and Tara Suzanne Davis; five grandchildren, Olivia, Kiilu, Giorgia, Donovan, and Makayla; six brothers and sisters, Sue McLeland, Katherine Hayes, Terry Hayes, Don Hayes, Dwight Hayes and Cheryl Fuchs; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ralph was born in Montgomery County, TN to Robert Russell and Bernice Earle Hayes. After graduating from Montgomery Central High School, Ralph moved to Michigan and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Fuels Specialist Technician. Following his military career, Ralph returned to Michigan, where he worked for the Conrail for over 35 years as a railroad conductor. Upon his retirement from the railroad, Ralph moved to Arizona to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren.

Ralph enjoyed leather crafting, golfing, hunting, hiking, poker, and puzzles. He loved his family dearly and will be sincerely missed.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Myers Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating.
