CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The 4th Annual “Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial Road Race” is coming up Saturday, August 10 at Beachaven Winery. The nighttime race features a 1 Mile Fun Run at 8:00 p.m. followed by the 5K race at 8:30.
Entry fee for the 5K is $25 and $5 for the 1 Mile Fun Run with chip timing by the Clarksville Running Club. Runners entered in the 5K race can run the 1 Mile Fun Run for free. There will also be a silent auction with many great items. Hot dogs and drinks will also be on sale.
All 5K runners who register before midnight July 23 will receive a free t-shirt. Online registration cut off is midnight July 31. Race Day registration is available until 7:45 p.m. for an additional $5.
The event is being held to raise funds for a scholarship in Deputy Bubba Johnson’s name for children of local Public Safety Personnel attending Austin Peay State University. Deputy Johnson lost his life on January 12 2014 in a vehicle accident while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
