Ruben Ernesto Rivera, age 69, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center.
Ruben was born September 14, 1947, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to the late Ruben Rivera, Sr. and Candida Rivera. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Hector Vigo.
Mr. Rivera was a retired US Army veteran. He was of the Catholic faith.
Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 20, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Father Julian Ibemere officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Monday, December 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary to follow, and Tuesday, December 20, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Maria Rivera of Clarksville; two sons, Ruben (Tiffany) Rivera of Houma, LA and Alex (Mildred) Rivera of Clarksville; daughter, Ivette (Mac) Vigo of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
