CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – In an effort to protect the health of theater goers as well as staff, the Roxy Regional Theatre will temporarily close, effective March, 17-April, 3.
“This decision has been reached after much consideration, as the Roxy Regional Theatre is a cultural hub for art and entertainment in Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee,” said a release from the Theater. “We previously announced that precautionary measures and delays to productions were put in place for the safety of all concerned, but we feel that the best course of action, at this point, is this temporary closure.”
During this temporary closure, full-time staff will continue to receive full pay, as will the actors and production staff currently under contract.
A Streetcar Named Desire
The Roxy’s production of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ will no open on Friday, April, 10, and run through April 25:
Friday, April 10 @ 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 11 @ 8 p.m.
Thursday, April 16 @ 7 p.m.
Friday, April 17 @ 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 18 @ 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Thursday, April 23 @ 7 p.m.
Friday, April 24 @ 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 25 @ 8 p.m.
All patrons who have already reserved their seats for the current dates of A Streetcar Named Desire will be contacted individually to re-book for a new date. The Roxy encourages patrons to re-book their tickets, but refunds will be available on a case-by-case basis.
Fahrenheit 451
The Roxy’s production of ‘Fahrenheit 451’ has been postponed to a later date. Though dates have not yet been decided, the production will remain part of Season 37.
All patrons who have already reserved their seats for the current dates of Fahrenheit 451 will be automatically refunded through our ticketing agent, Vendini. A confirmation of refund will be sent to each patron individually.
Season 37 Ten-Pack Ticket Holders
In light of cancellations, the Roxy understands that many patrons will be unable to use all of their Season 37 ten-pack tickets before they expire. The theater has said they will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis and encourage anyone with questions to contact the box office for assistance.
‘Planters Bank Presents’ Film Series
This year’s ‘Planters Bank Presents’ film series will be cancelled at this time. This includes planned screenings of ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Peter Pan.’
All patrons who have already purchased their tickets for showings of ‘The Little Mermaid,” are asked to contact roxy@roxyregionaltheatre.ord of to call (931)645-7699 to arrange reimbursement.
Funds not claimed by a patron by March 31 will be added to the Roxy’s “Give Our Actors Wings,” travel stipend campaign.
School of the Arts
Following the decision made by Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, the Roxy Regional Theatre School of the Arts will remain closed through the month of March.
The Roxy will continue to work with CMCSS through the coming weeks to assess the situation and make further decisions.
Tuition for March will be applied to April. For those who have paid for an entire semester, please email schoolofthearts@roxyregionaltheatre.org to discuss reimbursment options.
While the theater remains closed, patrons are encourages to check the website, social media and their inboxes for up-to-date information on ways theater lovers can get together electronically in the coming weeks.
