CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Following cancellations, The Roxy Regional Theater has announced additional showings of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ as well as a new date for their screening of Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid.’
In an effort to protect the health of theater goers, the Roxy cancelled showings of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,” last weekend (March, 13-March, 15).
“Mayor Pitts has strongly recommended postponing our weekend activities for the safety of all concerned, so we plan to use the weekend to implement heightened disinfection of frequently touched areas of the theatre,” said Executive Director Ryan Bowie.
To replace cancelled performances, The theatre will be adding two Wednesday evening shows, meaning that ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ will now open on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. The Roxy’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night will begin at 6:30 on Wednesday for a minimum $5 donation.
Ticket holders for last weekends’ performances have been contacted regarding exchanges and/or refunds. Anyone who has not bee contacted can reach out to the Roxy though their website or Facebook.
Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid,’ will now be shown on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. The Roxy’s screening of ‘Peter Pan,’ will be moved to Sunday March 29, to accommodate the change. Previously purchased tickets to “The Little Mermaid,’ will be honored on the new date, though ticket holders may contact the box office to request a refund as well.
A statement from the Roxy Regional Theatre Board of Directors and Staff read “We sincerely apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience caused by this change in plans, but the health and safety of patrons, as well as our performers and staff, is our top priority.
