CLARKSVILLE, TN − After cancellations for snow, then flooding, the Rossview Playhouse will finally present “Leaving Iowa” by Tim Clue and Spike Manton, April 10, 11, and 12.

What a year for the Rossview Playhouse! Last May, a storm knocked out their stage lights and they were not completely repaired by an outside company until mid-December. For the first time in her 36- year career, Mrs. Wilcox and the Rossview Playhouse would not have a Fall production perform for the public. Theatre Director, LuEllyn Boyer Wilcox, still had her Advanced Theatre One Act Play Cast and Crew produce their competitive One Act, “The Boy Next Door”, using garage lights on the stage. They went on to receive the Award of Excellence at the TTA One Act Play Competition in October with Jeremy Annel and Blake Dickey-Ballentine being named to the State All-Star Cast. A storm would not stop them.

In January, the actors prepared for their full-length production, Leaving Iowa, only to have their production nights cancelled for snow in February. Before they could perform “Leaving Iowa” for the public, “The Boy Next Door” got to finally performed for the public in March and won 1st Place in the “THSSDL One Act Play” competition in Henry County with Blake Dickey-Ballentine and Joziah Williams winning Top Actors and Jeremy Annel, Jalen Soto, and Dillon Thomas named to the All-Star District Cast. They will perform at the THSSDL State tournament at the end of April. Now to finally get to “Leaving Iowa”.

“Leaving Iowa” was slated to perform April 3-5 but once again cancelled due to the horrible weather, storms and flooding last week. Now, finally, this talented cast will get to perform for the public this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 10, 11, and 12, at 7:00 PM in the RHS main Theatre! Even though many cast and crew members have been affected by the flooding, they still will rise up and present this heartwarming comedy that will make you reflect on cherished childhood memories, family, and the inevitable passing of time. Follow the Browning Family reliving a childhood road trip across Iowa, connecting past to present, leaving you laughing and crying remembering loved ones now gone. Tickets are $5.00 on GoFan.com and curtain call is 7:00 PM nightly. Come support this wonderful cast and crew, because three is a charm…rain or shine!
