CLARKSVILLE, TN – The New Providence Middle School Mustangs hosted Rossview Middle School Hawks for the NPMS 60th anniversary celebration on Sept. 15. NPMS hosted the homecoming for the second year since 1982, when football was removed from all middle schools.

This season is Bruce “Pooky” Bogertey’s fourth leading the Mustangs, through the ups and downs of this 2026 season. Rossview went into the game with a record of 2-2, looking for an easy win against the Mustangs. This was truly a defensive game, with the teams fighting back and forth. Both teams struggled to move the ball offensively, as Rossview Middle didn’t score until early in the second quarter, and NPMS stopped the Hawks’ extra-point attempt.
Despite a 10-minute delay at the end of the fourth quarter caused by the stadium lights going out, leaving the entire sports complex pitch-black, Rossview Middle clinched the win over the New Providence Middle Mustangs 6-0.
