CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview Lady Hawks took a trip to Kenwood High School for a matchup with the Knights on Friday. While early on the teams traded blows, the Hawks pulled away late for a 66-42 victory, led by 22 points from Imani Evans.

In the first half, both teams made adjustments to what the other team was doing. At times, it was a fast-paced shootout, but towards the second quarter, it turned into a slow, physical battle.

The Hawks led 30-22 at the half, but Rossview head coach Clay Head admitted his team is still trying to find their way. “We’re trying to find the identity of our team,” said Head. “We’re struggling to find that right now, but I think we will be all right.”

In the second half, the Hawks spread the ball around, and guard Imani Evans was on fire, connecting on four threes in the last 16 minutes of play. Her scoring burst was one of the main factors as to why the Hawks pulled away for a 66-42 cross-town win.

Despite the loss, Kenwood head coach Jemiah Harrison thinks that the Knights are just a few small things away from competing with teams.

“It just comes down to the little things,” said Harrison. “We’ve go to box out, and guard well. We’re a better team than we last time we came out on the floor, and that’s what you love to see as a coach. Right now we have a lot of injuries, by the time we get to districts we’re going to be ready.”
