CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – For the past three weeks, the Rossview High football team has been riding a three-game winning streak and they have shut out each of their opponents.

The Hawks’ streak began when they defeated the West Creek Coyotes 10-0 during week three of the season. Then they beat the Northwest Vikings and the Northeast Eagles in back-to-back games.

Throughout the past three games, they have outscored opponents 102-0 and pushed their record to 3-2.

Hawks head coach Todd Hood said he’s been impressed with his team and their ability to lock in during their winning streak. Hood said that his team is getting better every week while his seniors lead by example. However, Hood stressed the importance of taking it one game at a time.

2023-24 football season

Hood told Clarksville Now this past off-season was centered on building character, hard work and discipline.

He added that his student-athletes talked about having a monster mentality, starting in the off-season when they were weightlifting, training and spending time together.

“The kids did a good job of just getting together,” Hood said. “We’re building each other up as a team and growing in that regard. I think it’s really carried over into this season. … I’m proud of the way they are playing and working together.”

Hood said the biggest difference between this year’s team and last year’s is that they are playing as one and not focused on individuality.

The head coach’s expectations to finish the year includes winning their district and region. They are currently ranked first in their district with a 3-0 record.
