PARIS, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview Hawks traveled to Henry County High School for the region 7-4A softball semifinals. The Patriots were a tall task, compiling a record of 23-2 on the year, but the Hawks used their offensive tenacity throughout the night to upset the Patriots 7-3, earning them a spot in the region Championship and ending Henry County’s season
Kennedy Scott got the scoring started for the Hawks in the fourth inning with a solo shot over the centerfield wall. From that point on, The Hawks couldn’t get much else going until the top of the seventh inning, where they scored six runs to pull away, including a 3-RBI triple from McKenzie Quick.
Hawks pitcher Avery Rauscher got it done in the circle, only allowing three runs in seven complete innings worked. She also struck out seven batters, while walking none, and the defense behind her committed no errors to earn the win.
“These young ladies are playing to the max, for each other, at the right time,” said Hawks head coach Travis Gillette. “A prime example is Kennedy Scott, aka ‘Captain Clutch.’ This kid had stepped up again, every young lady we have has stepped up, it’s a beautiful thing as a coach to see. This group of ladies has done it for three years now, sneaky and amazing wins.”
