CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Members of the Rossview High School (RHS) Band were honored May 17 during the annual awards banquet.
Throughout the year, the students worked hard to attend several competitions statewide. Band Director Brock Cobb is proud of what his students have accomplished.
“I am always reminded with each senior class the privilege I have as a band director. Very few teachers in the building get to watch their students grow through all four years of their high school career, and to be a part of their experience all four years,” he said. “It has been a very successful year for the Rossview Band Program. Our students continue to excel in all areas of their scholastic life.”
Among their many achievements, the following are highlights from the past year with the RHS band:
• Acceptance to play at the Tennessee Music Educators Association State Concert Festival (first time for the school), one of only 34 schools in the entire state of TN.
• Top ratings at our Middle TN and North TN regional Concert Festivals.
• Two students selected as members of the TN all-state band.
• Selection to play at the Belmont University Wind Ensemble Festival, one of only two bands selected in the Middle TN region.
• 82 students selected by audition for various honor bands around the region, including APSU, Northwestern Middle TN, Western Kentucky University, and all of Middle TN.
• The Marching Band winning first place at three of our five contests, and superior (top) ratings at four of the five.
