CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) –Rossview High senior safety Jordan Culp has been named Clarksville Now’s Player of the Week following his performance in the Hawks’ 47-29 win over West Creek.
Culp had a pick-six to seal the game against the Coyotes, and then three plays later, he took another interception to the house to put an exclamation point on the Hawks’ first win of the season, and the first win in the career of head coach Stratie Young.
“The picks came from everyone doing their job and allowing me and others to make plays,” Culp told Clarksville Now. “The win means a lot and is a good step forward for the team and coaching staff. I’m thankful for my coaches and teammates for bettering me every day, and I couldn’t have done it without their love.”

Coaches corner: ‘He has a knack for the football’
“Jordan’s impact and senior leadership can’t be overstated,” said Rossview head coach Stratie Young. “He has a knack for the football, and when he gets it in his hands, he’s a threat to score.
“He led our team in interceptions last season, in addition to a scoop and score last week as well. Two pick-sixes in one game is special, and it gave our team the spark we needed to finish and get our first win. I’m proud of him, proud of our coaches, and proud of our team for earning this victory together.”
Culp has been a key piece of the Hawks’ defense all season and finally got to see that hard work pay off on Friday night.
Rossview High football now has a region record of 1-1, with an overall record of 1-4, and the team is headed into another region contest on homecoming this Friday against McGavock.
