CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Longtime Rossview High girls basketball coach Justin Woods resigned from his position on Wednesday, March 23. Woods walks away from the program after nine years of coaching the Lady Hawks.

Woods took over coaching duties at Rossview during the 2013-14 season. He continued to build upon a winning program from that day forward. During his tenure with the school, Woods became the winningest coach in program history with a record of 221-55 (.801).

In addition, he also led the Lady Hawks to two state tournament appearances including one this past season. Woods finished his final season with 27 wins, and the year concluded in the state quarterfinals against Farragut High School.

Woods explained his reasoning for his sudden departure on the Rossview Lady Hawks Twitter page stating, “my wife and kids need me. I have been ‘coach’ for 17 years and spent a ton of time with other people’s kids. I am ready to spend that time with my own kids and just be a dad for a while.”
