CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Antioch Bears traveled to Exit 8 for a region 5-6A matchup with the Rossview High Hawks. The two teams battled for field position all night, and both defenses had shining moments, but two touchdowns from Antioch’s Evan Davis were the difference, and the Bears clinched a home playoff game with a 12-0 win.
The two teams traded punts on their first possession, but Antioch’s Evan Davis broke free on the Bears’ second drive to give the boys in blue a 6-0 lead in hostile territory.
From then on, the game became a physical slugfest on a muddy, slippery field. Each offense struggled to find a rhythm due to each defensive unit being dominant throughout the night.

The score stayed at 6-0 for the next 30 minutes of game time, as neither team could gain any ground. Just as it looked like Antioch was in danger of losing their second straight contest, Davis found paydirt again, which gave the Bears all the momentum they needed to grind out a 12-0 win on the Hawks’ senior night.
With the victory, Antioch earns the number two seed in region 5-6A and will now host Shelbyville Central next week in the first round of the postseason. Unfortunately for Rossview, they’ll hit the road as the three seed, facing the Brentwood Bruins in round one.
